Shipping & delivery

We pack it ourselves, then it leaves Florida.

Nothing is handed to a fulfilment centre. The same people who catalogued your piece wrap it, box it and drive it to the carrier — because a costume that survived a production should survive the trip to you.

Who paysThe buyer

From hammer to doorstep

What happens, and when
  1. 01

    Your invoice arrives

Within 48 hours of the sale closing, listing every lot with hammer price, the 28% buyer's premium and tax calculated on your delivery address. Shipping is not on it yet.

    Within 48 hours
  2. 02

    You pay

Due within seven days. Card and bank transfer clear fastest; checks, cashier's checks and money orders must clear the bank before anything is released.

    Within 7 days
  3. 03

    We pack and quote

Once funds clear we pack your lot, weigh and measure the finished parcel, and send you a shipping quote for the real box — not an estimate taken off a chart.

    1–2 business days
  4. 04

    You approve the shipping charge

Pay it and we book the label the same day. If you would rather arrange your own carrier, say so and we will hold the packed lot for collection instead.

    Your call
  5. 05

    It ships, with its certificate

Tracking is emailed the moment the label is created. Your serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity travels inside the box.

What will shipping cost?

A working estimate, so you can budget before the hammer rather than after. Your real quote comes from the packed box — sometimes less than this, occasionally more on an awkward shape.

Lots marked special shipping required are handled separately — see below.
Duties and import taxes are yours to pay, and are not in this figure.
Estimated shipping $38 – $62

Most single wardrobe pieces to a US address land near $46.

Two things to know before you bid

Special shipping required

Some lots we will not ship

When a lot says special shipping required in its description, it is too large, too heavy or too fragile for us to send in-house — a stencilled crate, a full set piece, a mannequin-mounted costume.

You arrange a third-party shipper to collect it from us. We crate it, hold it, and release it to your carrier. Ask and we will send you a list of shippers who collect from us regularly.

Insurance

We do not offer shipping insurance

It is not something we sell, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. What we do instead is pack properly — double-boxed where it matters, rigid support inside the garment, corners protected.

If you want a piece insured in transit, arrange it with your own carrier or broker before we ship, and tell us so we can declare the value correctly.

Carriers and timing

Business days from the day we ship
FedEx Ground Our default for anything boxed. Tracked door to door across the United States. 2–5 days
FedEx Express When you want it sooner, or the piece should not sit in a network over a weekend. 1–2 days
USPS Priority Smaller props, documents and anything light where Ground would cost you more. 2–4 days
FedEx International Worldwide, with customs paperwork we complete for you. Duties are paid by you on arrival. 4–10 days
Collection from us Your shipper, your schedule. Required on lots marked special shipping, available on anything else. Within 30 days

What we do

The paperwork is ours

  • We complete the customs declaration and commercial invoice.
  • Value is declared honestly — we will not under-declare a piece, for any reason.
  • Costumes and props are declared as collectibles, with the production named.
  • Tracking works end to end on FedEx International.
What is yours

Duties, taxes and local rules

  • Import duty and VAT are charged by your country, not by us, and are paid by you.
  • Your carrier may hold a parcel until those are settled.
  • Some materials — certain leathers, feathers, replica weapons — are restricted in some countries. Ask us before you bid if you are unsure.
  • We cannot mark a shipment as a gift.

Ask before you bid, not after.

All sales are final, so a shipping surprise is the one thing we would rather you never have. Tell us the lot and where it is going, and we will price the box before you raise your hand.
